This year I decided I wanted to celebrate the beautiful covers of books I've read this year! The old adage of never judging a book by its cover is useful but that doesn't mean you can't praise incredible covers! I did decide that this award should not include the winners of the original Trixie and the Moai award since (in theory but probably not in practice!) that award has already raised some attention. Mostly it just gives me more books to celebrate!! :D With that said, I've decided that the nature of this award allows me to recognize multiple books in a series! Yay!
One more note before I announce the finalists. Beauty as we know is
in the eye of the beholder but I want to be clear, this term is being
applied to covers that impress me, that make me want to look at them
again and again! I'm sure I'm not objective, but I feel like there is a diversity of styles here... Though there does seem to be a circle-throughline!
