56. The Cracked Spine by Paige Shelton
I read the second book in the series long before I read this first one. I know that it's strange that it didn't bother me to read them out of order, but it didn't. And I found this one a delight. I really liked reading this story after having already known many things about them. This was just a fun murder mystery set in Scotland with an American protagonist.
57. Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookshop by Robin Sloan
This book has gotten so much good buzz that I knew I was going to read it, but then my friend had me read Sourdough before I had gotten around to Mr. Penumbra. Once I had read that I thought, Now is the time. So I put the book on hold at the library, and here I am. Well, it's fantastic!!!
58. The Girl in the Green Silk Gown by Seanan McGuire
This is the follow-up to Sparrow Hill Road (about the hitchhiking phantom, Rose Marshall). Well, I adore Sparrow Hill Road and was utterly thrilled that there was another Rose Marshall book to dive into, and dive I did! I love a ghost story. I do ghost stories with my students and I even talk about hitchhiking ghost stories in particular. So this book and Sparrow Hill Road are just pure delights for me.
59. Mem by Bethany C. Morrow
I had heard that this book was amazing, and so I wanted to check it out. It's an interesting alternative world where memories could be extracted back in the early 1900s. But these extracted memories are people- or rather look like people...
60. Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells
I am just like everyone else who says they love Murderbot! I am no different! I was so excited to read this book, and I devoured it! Yum! So glad there's more on the way!!
