These are different graphics that have been circulating around me during the pandemic. I consider this group the PSA-y type.
I like the unity messages, things like we'r all in this together.
WAITT: We Are In This Together
At first we were really just told to wash our hands a lot. I mean we were told to frequently wash our hands, and we were told this many times. I did a lesson with my students probably on March 2 about the current recommendations on how to protect yourself and washing your hands was part of that. I found this great infographic on the most commonly missed areas during handwashing.
In the early days we didn't really have clear information on what the symptoms were. We basically heard about fever, coughing, and difficulty breathing. But that was it, so this was helpful in understanding more.
We were told that we should self-isolate if showing symptoms. Or that we might have to self-quarantine. Or shelter in place. Or stay at home. Here are some posts about that.
This one was from the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico's Facebook page.
This one is a poem.
This infographic was shared on Facebook and fascinated me because it talks about the mutations.
I like this one because it really addresses the issue of fear in a pandemic.
I liked the outpouring of support for grocery store workers. Essential workers is the new term. I hope there will be more respect given by employers to people who really are essential but in low paying jobs, often without benefits like sick leave.
So has unemployment.
Maybe it's fear, maybe it's entitlement but like the virus this belief that a person has the right to not wear a mask trumping public safety has also spread. So people have been trying to address this issue with reason and logic.
